The slender lorises are a genus of loris native to India and Sri Lanka. Slender lorises spend most of their life in trees, traveling along the tops of branches with slow and precise movements . They are nocturnal,  meaning, they are most active at night.  This explains their huge eyes as they have to find prey in the dark. This also explains why they are so difficult to spot.  You can identify their high pitched distinctive call around dusk as they begin to get active.

This painting was a gift to my niece who was so excited to identify the call.
