Featured animal: Indian leopard (Panthera pardus fusca)
Location: Tadoba National Park, India
This is an Indian leopard from a photo taken by Mr. Sateesh Lanka at Tadoba. The original photo had the leopard sitting on the forest floor, but I took artistic license and put it on a jackfruit tree. The intense look from those blue eyes prompted me to paint this leopard. Blue eyes are a bit rare in leopards, but do exist as is evident here.
“The eye, the window of the soul, is the chief means whereby the understanding can most fully and abundantly appreciate the infinite works of Nature; and the ear is second.” – Leonardo Da Vinci
